2025/2026 Internship & Volunteer Opportunities at ECSA-HC Secretariat – Arusha, Tanzania

Are you passionate about health systems, community development, or regional cooperation in public health? The East, Central, and Southern Africa Health Community (ECSA-HC) is excited to announce open Internship and Volunteer opportunities at its Secretariat in Arusha, Tanzania.

This programme offers a unique chance for students, recent graduates, and professionals to gain hands-on experience, sharpen their skills, and contribute meaningfully to public health and development across the ECSA region.

Priority Thematic Areas

We are currently recruiting for the following areas:

• Health Systems Strengthening and Capacity Development
• Research and Innovation
• Communication and Advocacy
• Primary Health Care and Community Medicine
• Neglected Tropical Diseases (NTDs) and Disability Inclusion
• Nutrition and Food Systems
• Human Resource Management (HRM)
• Health and Climate Change
• Mental Health and Wellbeing
• Youth SRHR and Mental Health Advocacy
•  4 internship and 10 volunteer slots are available.

Who Can Apply?

Internship Applicants:

• Final-year students or recent graduates
• Bachelor’s, Master’s, or equivalent degree in relevant fields (e.g. Public Health, Medicine, Social Sciences)
• Must provide proof of enrolment or recent graduation

Volunteer Applicants:

• Bachelor’s, Master’s, or PhD holders with 2–10 years of relevant experience
• Proven experience in programme implementation

Please Note

• The programme is unpaid. Participants are responsible for travel, accommodation, and living expenses.
• Close relatives of serving ECSA-HC officials and former interns/volunteers are not eligible.
