Clusters

The Program is responsible for designing and implementing regional activities in line with the Resolutions of the ECSA Health Ministers Conferences, other regional and global commitments and relevant Strategic and Business Plans.

Family health is a state of positive interaction between family members which enables each member of the family to enjoy optimum physical, mental, social and spiritual well-being.

The Knowledge Management, Monitoring and Evaluation cluster is responsible for monitoring progress towards the attainment of the Sustainable Development Goals and the Health Ministers Resolutions within the East, Central and Southern Africa region.

The cluster is formed as a merger of two technical programs; the Health Systems and Services Development (HSSD) and the Human Resources for Health and Capacity Development (HRH&CD) Programs, following the restructuring process endorsed by the 61st Health Ministers Conference in 2015.

The Implementation Science Collaborative (ISC) is an unincorporated partnership under development with the support of USAID’s Health Evaluation and Applied Research Development (HEARD) Project and its implementing partners. Advancing quality of maternal and newborn health care requires an equal focus on the provision and experience of care.

 

 

 

 

One of the biggest challenges facing victims of torture and those living in emergency contexts is the lack of mental health care and psychosocial support services (MHPSS) available where they live. This Implementation Science Collaborative (ISC) partnership carries out activities that strengthen the evidence base related to mental health and psychosocial support interventions for use in developing more effective policy.

The Implementation Science Collaboration on Urban Health in East Africa was born of an initial round table consultation hosted by the East, Central and Southern African Health Community (ECSA-HC) which identified critical nutrition and water, sanitation and hygiene (WASH) evidence gaps in the region.The Collaboration’s combination of policy advocacy and practical research influenced a regional Health Minister’s resolution

Support data through strengthened policy and program efforts, with a focus on connecting learning across country experiences.
