São Tomé and Príncipe in the ECSA Health Community

The Democratic Republic of São Tomé and Príncipe is part of the expanding ECSA Health Community member-state family. As a small island developing state in the African region, São Tomé and Príncipe adds an important island-health perspective to ECSA-HC’s regional health cooperation agenda.

The country’s participation strengthens regional dialogue on health systems resilience, universal health coverage, emergency preparedness, infectious disease prevention and control, maternal and child health, nutrition, climate-sensitive health risks, and digital health transformation.

Through ECSA-HC platforms, São Tomé and Príncipe will contribute to peer learning, exchange of best practices, regional technical cooperation, and joint action aimed at improving health outcomes across member states.
