ECSA-HC Welcomes Prof. Julie Makani as New Science Advisor

The East, Central and Southern Africa Health Community (ECSA-HC) is proud to welcome Prof. Julie Makani as the organization’s new Science Advisor. A distinguished researcher and global health leader, Prof. Makani brings a wealth of expertise in sickle cell disease, clinical research, and science-driven health policy.

During her visit to the ECSA-HC Secretariat, she was accompanied by Ms. Nesia Mahenge, a respected development strategist and advocate for inclusive health. Their visit marks the beginning of impactful collaborations focused on strengthening regional health systems through evidence, innovation, and strategic partnerships.
