The East, Central and Southern Africa Health Community (ECSA-HC) is inviting applications from qualified candidates for various positions based at its Secretariat in Arusha, Tanzania.

Contract Type: Three-year renewable
Duty Station: Arusha, Tanzania
Eligibility: Nationals of ECSA-HC member states (Tanzania only for the Project Administrator role)

Vacancy: Communications and Advocacy Specialist

The East, Central, and Southern Africa Health Community (ECSA-HC) invites applications for the position of Communications and Advocacy Specialist from suitably qualified candidates who are nationals of ECSA-HC member states. The position is based at the ECSA-HC Secretariat in Arusha, Tanzania

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement the organization’s communications and advocacy strategy

  • Promote visibility and branding of ECSA-HC

  • Manage media relations and produce communication materials (press releases, policy briefs, newsletters, etc.)

  • Coordinate knowledge sharing events and advocacy campaigns

  • Maintain and update the ECSA-HC website and social media platforms

  • Support documentation and communication during technical meetings

  • Prepare speeches and reports for the Director General

  • Provide training on advocacy and documentation

Qualifications

  • An undergraduate degree and a Master’s degree in Communications, Journalism, Public Relations, or International Relations

  • Minimum 10 years of experience in communications and advocacy

  • Experience with media relations and digital communications

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills

  • Familiarity with public health issues is an added advantage

Contract & Benefits

Three-year renewable contract with an attractive salary package
