Are you passionate about health systems, community development, or regional cooperation in public health? The East, Central, and Southern Africa Health Community (ECSA-HC) is excited to announce open Internship and Volunteer opportunities at its Secretariat in Arusha, Tanzania.
This programme offers a unique chance for students, recent graduates, and professionals to gain hands-on experience, sharpen their skills, and contribute meaningfully to public health and development across the ECSA region.
Priority Thematic Areas
We are currently recruiting for the following areas:
- Health Systems Strengthening and Capacity Development
- Research and Innovation
- Communication and Advocacy
- Primary Health Care and Community Medicine
- Neglected Tropical Diseases (NTDs) and Disability Inclusion
- Nutrition and Food Systems
- Human Resource Management (HRM)
- Health and Climate Change
- Mental Health and Wellbeing
- Youth SRHR and Mental Health Advocacy
- 4 internship and 10 volunteer slots are available.
Who Can Apply?
Internship Applicants:
- Final-year students or recent graduates
- Bachelor’s, Master’s, or equivalent degree in relevant fields (e.g. Public Health, Medicine, Social Sciences)
- Must provide proof of enrolment or recent graduation
Volunteer Applicants:
- Bachelor’s, Master’s, or PhD holders with 2–10 years of relevant experience
- Proven experience in programme implementation
Please Note
- The programme is unpaid. Participants are responsible for travel, accommodation, and living expenses.
- Close relatives of serving ECSA-HC officials and former interns/volunteers are not eligible.
