ECSA-HC Organizes Successful Health Walk and Medical Camp in Arusha
On June 15, 2024, the East, Central, and Southern African Health Community (ECSA-HC) organized a 5km health walk and medical camp in Arusha, Tanzania, the secretariat’s headquarters. Themed “Step by Step for Better Health and Mental Wellbeing,” the event was officiated by Hon. Emmanuella Kaganda, the Arumeru District Commissioner. Delegates from member states including Eswatini, Lesotho, Zambia, Zimbabwe, Malawi, Kenya, and Uganda attended the event.
The medical camp, supported by Stanbic Bank, KCB Bank, Benson and Company and NSK the key sponsors, provided various on-site medical services. These included blood pressure checks, hypertension screening, dietary counselling, blood donation, and cervical cancer screening. These crucial services attracted a significant turnout, demonstrating the community’s eagerness to engage with the health initiatives.
The event was a major success, garnering impressive community participation and effectively disseminating key health messages. It highlighted ECSA-HC’s pivotal role in fostering regional cooperation for better health outcomes.
