TB In the Mining Sector in Southern Africa, Phase III, Project Launch in Lilongwe, Malawi.
The Director General of the East Central and Southern Africa Health Community (ECSA-HC), Prof.Yoswa Dambisya, would like to announce the Official Launch of the TB in the Mining Sector in Southern Africa, Phase III, Project.
The project launch will be held on the 25th of February 2022 from 09:30hrs to 16:00hrs, at the Umodzi PARK hotel in Lilongwe, Malawi. The project launch will be attended by Permanent Secretaries from the Ministries of Health, Labour and Mining; senior Government Officials from the Ministries of Health of the 16 SADC Member States and Senior officials from the Chambers of mines.

About TIMS Project
ECSA-HC as the Principal Recipient of the TB in The Mining Sector Phase 3 Project has received a Grant from the Global Fund to support 16 SADC countries in the reduction of the TB burden amongst key populations. (ex-mineworkers, mineworkers and their families and peri-mining communities, Labour sending areas.) The three (3) year 2021-2024 Global Fund project shall ensure key population in 16 SADC Countries namely: Angola, Botswana, Comoros, DRC, ESwatini, Lesotho, Madagascar, Malawi, Mauritius, Mozambique, Namibia, Seychelles, South Africa, Tanzania, Zambia, and Zimbabwe, have access to quality TB prevention and treatment services and improved working and living environment.
