ECSA-HC Welcomes Dr. Ntuli Kapologwe as the New Director General
The East, Central, and Southern Africa Health Community (ECSA-HC) is pleased to announce the appointment of Dr. Ntuli Angyelile Kapologwe 🇹🇿 as its new Director General. His appointment was officially announced by the HMC Chair during the 74th Health Ministers’ Conference (HMC), with a vote of thanks delivered by Hon. Minister Jenista Mhagama on behalf of the Government of Tanzania.
About Dr. Kapologwe
Dr. Kapologwe brings a wealth of experience in public health, health systems strengthening, and policy development. His extensive background includes:
- PhD in Public Health – Research on Direct Health Facility Financing (DHFF) and its impact on maternal and child health services.
- Director of Health, Social Welfare & Nutrition Services at PORALG (2017-2024).
- Regional Medical Officer & District Medical Officer – Strengthening health systems at local and national levels.
- Over 70 peer-reviewed publications on public health, health financing, and service delivery improvement.
A Vision for Regional Health Advancement
Dr. Kapologwe’s leadership is expected to usher in a new era of regional cooperation, health system strengthening, and innovation across the ECSA-HC member states. His expertise will be instrumental in guiding the implementation of the newly launched 10-Year Strategic Plan (2024-2034) and advancing key health priorities, including Universal Health Coverage (UHC), digital health innovation, and workforce development.
