Fostering Regional Cooperation for Better Health
The World Bank

The World Bank Group is one of the Largest Funding sources globally. It provides financing, policy advice and technical assistance to Governments in Developing countries. ECSA received support through the bank in the following areas

  • The East African Public Health Laboratory Network (EAPHLN) project, which supports laboratory networking and systems capacity strengthening and strengthening of disease surveillance in Kenya, Rwanda, Tanzania, Rwanda and Burundi. http://www.eaphln.go.ug/ntrl/
  • The Southern Africa TB and Health Systems Support (SATBHSS) Project. This project aims to improve the coverage and quality of TB control and occupational lung diseases services and to strengthen regional capacity for management of TB and occupational lung diseases in the four project countries: Lesotho, Malawi, Mozambique and Zambia.
  • The ECSA/World Bank Nutrition project: Where the bank supports ECSA-HC in capacitating frontline workers on Nutrition.
